oooooo take it all you dirty athletic director
I watched this video and remember a similar happening at my school when we grilled the AD about our team. Those sons-of-bitches just cannot help to walk all over cc and track. Good for these people for coming in and making a stand against this mess. I wrote to AD weeks ago and heard nothing, did not expect to either. Made clear that I thought his decision was poor and that I thought he was a dirtbag.
I was also shocked at how casual and smug the AD appeared to take the entire meeting, like it was nothing more than a formality and a total inconvenience for him to even be there. He stood there with his foot up on a chair or arm rest or something and with his arms folded the entire time. If this is the face of UD athletics, what a terrible hire to begin with. If these are his public speaking skills no wonder he was passed up for the NCAA job.
Camerawork is unbelievably painful.
this video definitely deserves to be put on the front page... even quote of the day or something.

He's talking about staying in hotels for home games. You don't travel to home games.
He asserted that MOST teams stay in hotels for home games. I doubt this is true. Also his math has each player in a room alone, I am certain this is not true. Most PRO players are still doubling up.
Carry on.
This is disgusting. I'm glad to see all these people coming and standing up for their programs. I can definitely relate as a student at a university who cut our mens teams a few years ago. We're sitting at 6 mens teams and 9 girls teams.
Only six of 120 major programs do not use hotels at home.
Lodging teams on nights before home games is nearly a universal practice. Of 120 major college football teams, only Arkansas State, Boise State, Fresno State, Louisiana-Monroe, Tulane and Western Kentucky do not stay in hotels before home games, according to Register research.
Hotels charged Iowa and Iowa State more than $200,000 combined in 2009 for lodging the nights before home games at a time when many others at those universities are being asked to pinch pennies.
I stand significantly corrected.
If it is good enough for Boise State with their blue turf it should be good enough for the Blue Hens.
its clearly done sitting in a chair with a cell phone or something and he's clearly not trying to make it painfully obvious or be obnoxious about that fact that hes videoing it.
its not like the person is standing up and following the people around the room as they talk.
with that being said and from what that video showed, that AD is an absolute jackass.
What a f***ing piece of sh*t. That AD should be fired
Way to film, Michael J. Fox.
I think the most interesting part in the whole video is the banner in the background...
"Be a Champion. Join the Fighting Blue Hens."
WOW!
Someone should have told him to turn around and read that in the middle of the conversation. If that's the athletic department's slogan, motto or mission statement then how disgusting is it that they are telling people you can't be a champion here because we're cutting the program.
Oh the irony.
Hmmmm... Our XC and Track team stayed in hotels for home meets when they were more than just crappy duel meets.
Every major invite, conference meet, etc. I'd say at least 4 or 5 times a year combining all 3 seasons.
I thought it was a good idea, we all slept well and felt a part of the event. I wouldn't want to sleep in my dorm room the night before conference.
Nothing will happen unless you complain to HIS boss. The president and board is who you want to put pressure on. Should send it to local news too...
this is awesome!!!!!!
That is complete crap. I feel for those guys.
Who can we email about this to show that it is not going under the radar? I would love to send an email expressing my feelings on this, and I think that everyone on letsrun, tracktalk, runnersworld, running2win, and other running websites should get involved in this.
