Pearl posted a video of the meeting that they held at Delaware to let them know about the cutting of track. The guy is pretty much tearing him apart lol.

This is so typical...your sport and our athletes are treated like second class citizens. It makes me feel like there are only two options...fight harder or pick up a ball. Eff that I say keep fighting, even if we know we are set up to lose.
If you want to fight open up your pocket books.
Well, if you're a grad of Delaware, you fight by closing your pocket books. A 100 year program has to have produced a couple big money donors. Hopefully they will cut those donations.
That was simply painful to watch. I hope that no more runners donate to the University of Deleware and that they actually loose more than they gain from this..
That makes me irrationally angry. I hope they lose every football game they play.
That is unbelievable. He cannot answer one question rationally or honestly. Disgusting.
This needs to go on the front page.
I hope that the AD gets hit by a bus
Bernard M. Muir, Director of Athletics & Recreation Services (302)-831-4006
Ok, so almost all football programs that I am aware of stay in hotels for home games.
80 players
$80/night
=$6400
If their football team didn't stay in hotel rooms for 3 HOME games, that alone would fund the xc team for an entire season. Unbelievable.

Don't forget the roster has 103 people on it.
Another wonderful thing that come from that meeting was that we were told UD IS IN COMPLIANCE with Title IX by the school's lawyer. About two days later, Senator Carper was told by BOTH Muir and President Harker that we are NOT in compliance with Title IX. Who's right? No one knows.
The AD is a coward. Its sad to because the University of Delaware is an awesome school.
It is great to see him get grilled like that, although he shouldn't get off that easy. It was funny to see he couldn't answer a single question without stuttering. What a scumbag.
I agree. What a scumbag. I'm glad these people are fighting back. Continuing to fight back and bad mouthing the athletic department at Delaware are the only ways to make the univ. of Delaware regret this decision. It's a numbers game and they think they're winning by doing this.
if it's only 20,000 dollars a year can't we get Joe Biden swing that?
Class of 1965
Wow - thanks for posting. How do you go into something like that without any reasonable answers for people? There just must not be any! At least he looked like an incompetent wanker.
I know us runners are all about love, peace, and harmony, but if this kind of fallout happens EVERY time a program gets cut, AD's will look elsewhere to skim funds for football.

I'm pretty sure most D1 teams don't travel their entire roster. Football teams spend a lot of money, but let's not get carried away. Some conferences have rules on how many people can travel, and a lot of teams only send around 60-65 i believe.

He's talking about staying in hotels for home games. You don't travel to home games.
They put the team in hotels for HOME games? Unbelievable. Cross is one of the cheapest, least maintenance required sports out there. BS
