good job, Lukas. I know he was hoping for sub4, but he set a PR running an indoor meet early in Feb that beat his outdoor time from last year. 4:03 is a sold time for the first meet and he did well in this field. I think he will certainly be sub4 very soon, especially outdoors, and I hope that he can get into another elite indoor meet to go sub4 indoors. GO LUKAS.
He is a clown for not going sub 4. He looks like a little fair-boy also. If I didn't have so many charges on my record I would give him a wedgie. He is a choke artist.

Perhaps two asterisks? I didn't turn 19 until I was a college sophomore.
Good for you. Do you think everyone should be measured against you? In a lot of school districts they won't let you start kindergarten if you're not 5 by September 1st. That would make it impossible to still be 18 on September 1st of your sophomore year of college (unless you skipped a year).
While it may have been common 20 years ago or more, it's very rare today for someone to start college at age 17.
In 1964 Ryun became the first high school runner to break four minutes for the mile, running 3:59.0 as a junior at Wichita High School East in Wichita, Kansas. I believe he was 16 at the time! Who can match this? - Nobody! Sure Webb ran faster as a senior in a mixed level race, but it just goes to show how incredible that performance actually was! All of Lukas's high tech cross-training and Olympic parents coaching can't even come close! However, I think he's doing everything in his power to make this sub-4 thing happen and I'm sure he'll eventually do it, but it's going to take some extra special drive and determination for it to unfold. If he could train for the next 4 weeks or so with some top athletes in his area at an indoor facility, (come on dude, there got to be one somewhere close he or his parents can drive to!) - then he could really make this work! Otherwise, he's just going to continue to fight the stupid ILL. weather trying to run outdoors.
you are a bunch of stupid people . He will be 18 when he graduates in june. How the hell does that may him a year older than people in his class!!
Jim Ryan and Jerman Fernandes were 15 when they graduated

Yeah thats' about what AJ ran as a senior, the same age. And we all know how that guy turned out....
Woah, woah, woah....so the police knew all along?

He closed in 60. He would have needed 56 to break four.
That is correct. He went through the midway point at 2:00 then the third quarter slowed to 1:04, which he followed up with a 60. I know that Lukas was told (erroneously) that he ran the final quarter in 56, but that was not the case. Great effort by Lukas. Now he needs to get in a race that goes through the half in 1:58, followed by a 1:00 and then hang onto a 1:01 to run sub 4.

Do you think Germann could have run 4:03 after his shoe fell off, if he had really gotten after it and not just coasted in to a 4:14? I know a 34s lap is pretty rough, but not insurmountable for a 3:55 guy.
German couldn't have run faster than 4:14, or else he would have. I don't even accept that his shoe fell off without evidence, and even then that he didn't kick it off himself to give himself another of of his endless excuses.

Because a lot of people don't pay attention. They know the hype about how he was a "year ahead" when he was a freshman phenom, and missed(or ignored) the fact he skipped his junior year to get back in line age-wise with his peers.
And you can be sure there will be another crop of idiots claiming he's 19 when the championship meets roll around in June.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
