that's an in race. that's not real t&f. why not run out ?
Manzano never runs a good opening season mile. Of coarse that could change, but I think Willis wins this.
He's a former Duck, he doesn't register on the Blojo's radar...

Mo Farah won the 5,000/10,000 metres double at the European Championships, not the Commonwealth Games.

Do you know what time?
either in Eugene or Australia.
And a little thought concludes, although he raced for the Ducks indoors, his 6'5" body is not suited for indoor racing. He is better off training for International racing in the summer.
This race could end up being a big disapointment.
Isn't it the first race of the year for most of these guys?
Maybe it's worth some good winter training and a pay day for the top guys.
I wouldn't read much into whatever results come from this race.
But I am sure it will be over analyzed.
Especially Webb.
If he wins he will be an Olympic medal favorite.
If he finishes in the bottom half he is done forever- again.
But it's a nice field and a good chance to get an idea of their fitness this year.
This is going to be a good race. 3 of these guys should pull Verzbicas to a sub 4 time. I hope they show it live on some sites.
on Sunday 2/6/11 at 2pm
I've got Willis FTW, and I seriously doubt Lukas goes sub 4.
We're missing Torrence, Wheating, Lomong and Lagat. As great as this race may be, it's not 'nearly all the North American based milers.'
But it will be great to watch. I'm worried the field might be a little too packed for any sub4 attempt by Verzbicas. Especially since most the field will try to be in contention through 800 meters at about 1:56-1:57, and he'll have to fight his way up through the third quarter as some of them start falling back.
Hesch and Webb tie at 3:52.

As a result, LetsRun.com has unofficially labeled the mile at NB Boston as the "North American Dream Mile" as it will feature virtually all of the top North American based milers.
All of the top NA based milers, minus five of the top six 1500m runners from last year.
that's a good race, but with Lomong, Wheating, and Lagat, it's hardly going to feature "virtually all" of the North American top milers.
webb wins.. why?
13:36 5k in november...
alsal is known for having his athletes fit really early on...
so i'd assume if he wins convincingly i'd worry bout his fitness come late in the summer.
but no doubt he'll be as fit for an early season indoor meet than he's ever been in his career based on the new coaching situation.
Wills: not from North America
Regardless, I am pumped about this race
14 guys on an indoor track? Going to be a little crowded.
Maybe Webb is just in it for Verzbicas. He's going after an important high school mark, plus Webb just handed him an award in-person the other day. I wouldn't worry too much about what Webb does. It's probably just to be one of the guys helping this kid along.
But it would be nice if Webb tried, too.
I wish this were an outdoor meet.
My pick for the win depends entirely on whether or not Will Leer is currently sporting his 'stache or not.
