First of all, why are you talking about Islam and Christianity? What on earth does that have to do with this story?
Second of all, your argument is flawed. You state that America, a "Christian" nation, is one of the most violent first world countries in the world. Correct. However, the Islamic countries you are presumably referring to are not exactly first world nations. And they are far, far more violent that the US. Would you rather live in Pakistan right now, or America? I don't understand the point you are trying to make.
Yes, Christianity has a lot to answer for. Yes, it's a ridiculous fantasy that has inspired needless ignorance and violence. But at this point in our history, Islam is at least an order of magnitude worse. I mean seriously, where are the Christian suicide bombers? When have Christians bombed embassies of sovereign, democratic nations over a cartoon? These whackjob Christian radio hosts seem to be some of the only people who notice this.
Also, Buddhists are not atheists. Where are you getting your information?
Anyway, sorry for the detour. Back to discussing how the victim of a horrific, unimaginable tragedy wasn't really a "star"...
