The Arab population need to be careful for what they wish. The "people's" revolution in Iran toppled the Shah and what they got afterwards was worse. The coming civil war in Iraq will be much worse than Saddam. If the Muslim brotherhood gains power in Egypt, nobody wins. Women, Christians, and anybody else who isn't a religious nutcase will all suffer much more than they possibly do now.
If Islamic terrorists gain power in Egypt, they will tear up their treaty with Israel, and they will join the race with Iran to build the Islamic bomb. If the North African states fall to Islamic terrorists, then I think that it is only a matter of time before Pakistan does also.
All of the current despotic Arab states are united in their hatred of Israel and its bank, the US. Maybe it's time for the US to join the eventual victors and abandon its unblinking support for Israel's apartheid regime.
The US needs some fast and forward thinking policy makers right now. Somehow I doubt that the smartest voices are being heard.

The US can help the situation in the Middle East by immediately terminating it's Crusades Against Islam, withdrawing it's militants from Islamic territories, ending support for facist Middle East dictators, and closing out it's Nazi-Zionist occupation of Palestine.
Learn to use contractions before lecturing others on foreign policy issues, ya' friggin' tosser.
Where does the Fascist Government in Washington, D.C. fit in the list?
President Obama has to help freedom by canceling his genocides in the Mid East.
I love number 3 -- reunify Palestine and Isreal into one politcal state -- dumb ass that means getting rid of Jordan because that's the state that was split. I notice there is no protest over Pakistan and India being split, cause that happened the same year, the same way. And, the West created not only Isreal and Jordan out of an old British terrirotry, but they created the countries of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon out of the old Ottoman Empire. No despute to their legitimacy because they don't have a Jew problem that the Arabs hate.
The PA instituted Sharia law and started killing and or driving off the Christians, it wasn't the Isrealis. In fact, the Muslims just banned the cross in Bethlehem. The middle East used to be up to 55% christian but Muslims destroyed all those communities as well as forced out all the ancient Jewish communities from the middle east and north africa.
Arabs have more rights in Isreal than they do in any other nation in the Middle East. In fact, their population has grown and thrived inside Isreal.
Get your facts straight.
The US must End the Occupation of Palestine, release 6 million Palestinians from jail, and allow them to recover their stolen homes and land.
Since we US taxpayers are forced by Nazi-Zionistas to pay 100% of the military and societal costs for The State of Israel, the US Government should establish Human Genome Tests. Any person with 1/6th Jewish genes Jew should have their US permanent residency and citizenship forever revoked, then should be deported to The State of Israel. (I use the number 1/16th because it's a useful ratio used by the US Government to place Japanese in Concentration Camps.) Hope this helps.

The Saudis hate the royal family. The country is run by a king propped up by the champion of democracy - the USA - who is selling off his country's natural resources below market value. The MOMENT US forces leave Saudi (if they ever do, and that's a big if) the king dies, the royal family dies, all the royal family's relatives die. Who knows what kind of government will replace it, but the overwhelming majority of Saudis do NOT like the royal family or their rule.
^^Above commentary provided by my Saudi friend studying here in the US.
Hmm.. I agree that the Royal Family has a difficult standing in the country as 2 of the three brithers are very modern-thinking. However, I would not take the word of one saudi at face value. That does not mean I do not believe that that is his impression, but I believe that his image might be skewed.
That is simply because there is no one group you can call "the saudis" there are different tribes indifferent regions. Some very loyal to the royal family, others very much opposing their policy. Especially in the north and south ends of the country, unemployment is high. That does indeed bear some potential for an uprise.
But I cannot see a universal uprise in the country. People in the Major cities (Riyadh, jeddah, etc...) live very well and profit very much from the rise of the economy due to foreign companies moving into the country.
Yes there is also a a big gap between the poor and the rich, but the poor in the big cities are more the indians, pakistani, phillipinos, who will not be rioting as they will be simply fought down and thrown out if they do.
I also believe that the national decisions (focus on education, gradual and seady industrialisation) of the royal family are very much though-through and long-term oriented to prepare the country for the post-oil era.
However, I have only been living in the country for a few months and that is my first impression of things. I believe Ghost (does he still post here?) is working at king Fahd University. So maybe he can shed some light from his viewpoint as well.
The people in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are repressed and cannot speak against the government for fear of execution squads. It's as barbaric as Israel or North Korea in those countries.

I’m a bit confused here.
The people of Kuwait repressed?
More so now than when Saddam Hussein invaded and occupied them?
The Americans shed blood to kick Saddam out in 1990 - should they have left well alone and let the ‘people’ of Kuwait enjoy life under Iraqi rule?
There are no freedoms in Kuwait, Saudi, North Korea, Iraq, Israel, Iran,... Say something wrong and your whole family is executed.
After spending last week and much of this weekend comparatively silent about the uprisings in neighboring Egypt, Israeli officials and pundits are suddenly sounding off on the growing rebellion and lashing out at President Obama for his somewhat incomplete backing of Mubarak.
Israeli President Shimon Peres praised Mubarak, insisting the Israeli government had “great respect” for the aging dictator, while he and others angrily chided President Obama for his modest calls for political reform in Egypt, accusing him of “betraying” Mubarak.
The comments are likely to be viewed quite negatively amongst protesters, who were already more than a little irked at US officials saying they wouldn’t support the complete ouster of Mubarak but only some minor reforms and citing Israel as the excuse.
Indeed, despite the Obama Administration’s insistence that they aren’t “taking sides” most are viewing them as propping up the Mubarak government, and not the other way around, a position strongly indicated by the $1.5 billion the US sends him annually.
But now, in the wake of a bloody crackdown on protesters, Israeli officials the world over are demanding that the US and others “curb” their criticism of Mubarak, and telling their ambassadors to warn the world that Israel not only supports Mubarak’s regime unquestioningly, but believes that allowing free elections in the nation could have “very serious implications” on other dictators in the region

palestinians can't steal israeli land, but israel is free to steal palestinian land.
ergo, palestinians do not have rights in israel. The so-called israeli arabs who have rights in israel are a token minority and you know it. window dressing to disguise the increasing apartheid state.
the answer is simple: split along 67 borders (hell, Abbas offered WAY more than that to israel, but Netanyahu say's "NO"), or unify in one country with a majority of palestinians.
No amount of your propaganda can disguise this one fundamental truth: Israel needs to fully divest it's palestinian holdings and allow a valid palestinian state or else incorporate palestinians into a truly plural (non-jewish) state.
islam is a subversive political movement masquerading as a religion. it has been so ever since mohammad. they have been trying to conquer the world since their inception. until the rest of the world comes to grips with this the islamist will continue to be successful in their endeavors.
it's not the same as yugloslavia where the same race split centuries ago by successive conquerors into separate factions along different geographic regions of the country. under clinton, the orthodox christian, catholic, and islamic factions agreed to live in separate countries.
palestine is not the same situation as yugoslavia. semites have lived in palestine for the entire breath of recorded history. the semites won't leave no matter what anyone says. the romans tried. the persians tried. the mongols tried. the british tried. semite factions are broken up by religion today. but nearly every semite person's family history includes switching religions back and forth many times as successive rulers have come and go though the ages. unlike yugoslavia, each semite faction claims the same towns, cities, farms, rivers, villages. thus, it is not possible to split the semites into separate geographic zones.
hope this helps.
Kick that rat Mubarak and Sulemann out of the Middle East !
It's CIVIL WAR NOW IN Egypt. Mubarak will not leave.
