that page is talking about FELIX sanchez, not franky sanchez as the original poster named. Is this the same sanchez who had some great races a few years back against andy powell in massachusetts? Im just a bit to young to have been into track back then, but i wish i had been, i hear they were sick
Your right that Felix Sanchez, the hurdler, is still running. However, I am asking if Franklyn Sanchez is still running? The former Georgetown 5k kid who broke the American Junior Record running 13:38.

look how far back mort was...
Interesting....
just like gruber he ran better later in the year
Well...any Sanchez sightings this year. Last I heard he'd graduated Georgetown and was training with the Oregon Project.
speaking of the sport ..how does he run so fast after so many down years???
He is no longer with NOP. It seems he left very quickly, after alot of effort to get him back in the game. You can say what you want about Alberto, but I don't think anyone can help that kid.
Why did he leave. Was he still injured? Does he want to work or is this it for him. I had never heard he was any type of head case.
I can't speak for his motives, or exact reasons. I can only attest for actions I observe. I don't know if he was hurt for sure or not, but I heard he was actually coming around. As for him being a head case, I can only again assume my opinion because of actions I observe. But he quit the Georgetown team. I mean, come on. If you were going to eventually be one of the best, do you quit your college team. No, I'm not talking about Webb. That is an obvious exception. And I heard he has tried to work with about 2 other coaches, and he couldn't commit. So, I have my own personal view. And it's not good. But hey, we all have our faults. It's only the people you f*ck over that matters :)
Too bad for him. Talent is only one part and I suppose he is an example of how important it is to have all the parts. I consider him very lucky to have been given so many chances. Blowing off your college coach is one thing but blowing off Salazar(regardless of what your opinion of his coaching is) is a very different animal.
Hmmm..that doesn't sound good...hope he reemerges somewhere sooner or later...he's still relatively young.
Much like many young kids with a promising future Salazar and Nike feel like they know what it takes and they are usually wrong. Chad johnson, Tom Mccardle, and Felix Sanchez are just a few on a long list. Eventually enough folks will realize that it is the WORST post collegiate route to go. Nike's money is often hard to pass up.

actually, i thought that he really does have some medical issues involving depression or other mental issues...if that is the case it is nobodys fault that fs hasnt amounted to anything after looking like a ritz-webb type star...certainly not henner, gags or al sal
At that time, Mort was just starting to train consistently for the first time in 3 or 4 years since his Kidney ailment.
Henner was a huge dick to Sanchez, told Franklyn he was going to cut his scholarship etc etc. It was not Franklyn's fault, it was the lack of character and lack of patience on Henner's side.
