What races are you working on? I've got some time and will do some digging.
Does anyone know when Kip is planning to race again?
looks like they used the same (stock?) girl photo for Kip's DDS facebook group as this college brochure

definitely the same girl, but I think different photos
i agree
You guys are finding everything.
That's just awful that Lincoln College lifted Kip's sample office photo for the cover of their catalog.
Maybe she lives in Michigan and goes to college in New England.
Keith, good points, all. Sum of 2nd paragraph - he ain't all there. Agreed. I don't see him making trouble for the Brojos. Possible, but unlikely. I think he's toothless. There's too much posted that exposes Kip L as a fraud & cheat for him to find a leg to stand on and fight back.
Research on this thread has been exceptional! Well done fellows. You done good! On your last point...he could still cheat under an alias so bringing his story to the public and race directors won't necessarily end the chicanery. Twice I've thought he would stop - and he didn't. This tale is stranger than fiction. Since we can't control what he'll do, a story detailing his cheating is enough damage as far as I'm concerned.
Good posts Keith and Clarkston Kent. Had me thinking, if he does in fact continue to race under an alias how do we catch him.
If Athlinks had a marker that could flag huge differentials in gun time/chip time in their incoming results that would help. We could then hunt down the photo's to see if it's Kip.
Just a thought.
He obviously has a preferred "sweet spot" of 2:50's for the marathon/17's for 5K. Looking there for results with gun/chip differentials, with particular scrutiny of MI/FL results would be a good start. From there he will be forced to "slow down or speed up". It would be funny if he started trying to fake 2:30's or was forced back to 3:30's.

Have you guys noticed the guy in the TRX ad that runs on every letsrun thread nowadays looks a lot like Kip? Or maybe this thread and all its Kip race pictures are adversely affecting my brain.
don't make me go to page 4 for the updates. If you are not on the first page, people ignore you.
I am starting to doubt that his 1:26:03 at the 2006 Naples Half marathon is legit too.
If you look at the photos:
http://www2.brightroom.com/browser.aspx?event_id=9709&bib=1529
There are only 3 of him and he does not even seem to be sweating, bib covered, yada, yada, yada.
Most of the others stand out for having many photos, sweating profusely.
His time seems to be A LOT better than what some of his current 2006 times would indicate.
Just a hunch.
The race that seems to jump out to me is his sudden 3:08 effort at the Richmond marathon in 2004. I could not locate any photos.
Also, did anyone research some of the duathlons he competed in? I know he won one in 2008. Just curious...

The link you provided doesn't look like our Kip.

Brightroom doesn't update the URL when you search for a new name. Here's the pictures 'Shoes too' was looking at:

Wriggle room time is over. Enough.

Look at p. 58 of this thread. I wouldn't call it an 'investigation', but there are some fishy aspects of his results.
Actually, just one more set of photos is needed to complete the picture(s).
'Shoes too' gave me an idea, and once again a strong suspicion led to yet more evidence.
We've talked about his m.o. about starting in the back and running without a fully visible number much of the way. I had previously shown that the 'long start delay' behavior started in 2006: before that, shorter delays of around 15 sec were observed in large races using chips. (See my 3 posts on p. 54.)
So, if his starting line strategy changed in 2006 (for major races, at least), did not his number displaying strategy change then, too? 'Shoes too' showed that even as far back as a Jan. 2006 race, there's his number in the middle of his shorts with his shirt pulled out over it. In 2005, was he 'hiding' his race number? No, there it is squarely on his t-shirt like most of us, proudly displayed for all to see.

(Naples Half Marathon, 1/23/05, 1:32:23, 90th of 1107 finishers.)
Summarizing:
2005 - bib number on shirt, starting line-up normal
2006+ - bib number on shorts with shirt(s) pulled over; starting in the back
The picture is now more complete.
