I had another breakthrough race at my half marathon yesterday morning. I'm thinking this high mileage thing I've been doing for 2 years or so is really paying off now, it almost makes me want to jump in a marathon to see what I can do on a whim.

Tu: am - 8 easy (7:17) / pm - 4 easy (7:19)

Half Marathon RR:
Led from start to finish, won by over 4 minutes, perfect weather....couldn't ask for a better race. I was shocked that the pace I was running felt soooo effortless, it actually never felt difficult. In fact, I know I could've broken 1:09 if I had someone to run with...but this was a PR by over a minute, and a sub 1:10, so I can't be disappointed. I'll spare you the boring details of the race, but here's my mile splits:
1 - 5:29 (hilly brick roads)
2 - 5:20
3 - 5:17
4 - 5:19
5 - 5:21
6 - 5:15
7 - 5:19
8 - 5:15
9 - 5:15
10 - 5:11
11 - 5:13
12 - 5:23 (all on uneven brick roads)
13 - 5:15
Final 0.1 - :32
Official Finish time - 1:09:28
Hope everyone had a great week, and I'm looking forward to hearing about our CIM marathoners...as well as NoleRunner in Vegas!
