Maybe Bekele tried to change his stride too and it didn't work out.

Yes, Bekele's coach was trying to get him to change his stride to look more like Ritz's !!! They figured: if a white boy can run THAT fast, then he must have the most efficient stride ever.
(as an aside: Bekele also sleeps in a "sea level" chamber that allows him to sleep/recover at sea level. Furthermore, he runs on/in a gravity treadmill that gives him the feel of running while weighing as much as Chris Solinksy. Everything that Alberto has Ritz do, Bekele does the opposite. :-)
Now that I think of it, some of these aren't bad ideas)
He isn't THAT tiny!
Food for thought, especially the sea level chamber for sleeping. Never undervalue the benefits of consistently good sleep. Not sure about the gravity treadmill. The net effect is hard to predict, although worth testing. Pubmed?
A perfect stride doesn't render you immune to injury, trolls
Bekele had an achilles injury; these are notorious. I've been nursing one since 2008

You can rest assured that if KB is doing it, all the other people he races against are too.
And you know this how? Can we rest assured that all the sprinters of the 80s were because ben johnson was? You fail at logic. So because the best runner is doping, that means that others who aren't doing as good as he is are doping as well?
Get a clue moron.
He has no logic eh?
How about if the guy that runs the fastest in the world does it is likely that his top competitors also do in an effort to be as fast as they can as well.
No blame was even placed on Kenny B, just a hypothetical which is clearly logical, but perhaps you aren't following?
Is Tiny Kenenisa Bekele anything like Little Penny Hardaway?

Lets try some logic then.
Do you think it's only Cycling, American Football, and baseball that are rife with drugs? Are those the only sports where people want to be the best so bad that they'll do anything to get an advantage?
Let's say you're a Kenyan that grew up in a hut with dirt floor, no running water, barely any food and no future and you meet a slick talking Italian that says all you have to do is follow his program and you'll earn enough money to feed your family for life.
In a lot of cases I wouldn't be surprised if the athletes don't even know they're being doped. It's happened before.
Apparently you don't think it's unusual that it now takes sub 2:06 to win any top marathon. Or maybe it's just the slick European agents ...

If this juvenile sarcasm gets your POD, your standards are pretty low.

POD.
Yes, they are.

nice.
BUMP - any updates?
I, for one, would love to see KB return to form and dominate in London. I'm American, and I root for American runners, but watching talents like KB dominate the world is awe inspiring. It seems like something is missing when I watch an international 5000 or 10000 and KB isn't on the track. Of course, if he did run in London and someone like Solinsky beat him for the gold, that would be nice also.

Only if Bekele ran great but Solinsky ran better. Watching Solinsky beat a hobbled and out of shape Bekele would be depressing - kind of like watching Willie Mays play for the New York Mets in 1973.
I'm pretty sure Bekele wouldn't toe the line unless he's in shape, he's not the type of guy to be willing to get his ass handed to him after being on top of the world for multiple years.
Bekele has been in a steady decline for several years even when he was not injuried. I will be the first to say it, I don't think you will see him on a track more than one more season and that will be the season that tells him it is time to hand them up or switch to the roads.

It is true that his time trials have been in a steady decline. But he absolutely dominated worlds less than 2 years ago in Berlin.

That's not the way it works anymore. Yes, they're still moving up from track to roads but not when they're out of shape or injured.
I don't think he'll come back. Too bad. :(
Looks like Kenny B is planning a long anticipated marathon debut.
Colin Sahlman runs 1:45 and Nico Young runs 1:47 in the 800m tonight at the Desert Heat Classic

Hallowed sub-16 barrier finally falls - 3 teams led by Villanova's 15:51.91 do it at Penn Relays!!!
