First off, this became by far the funniest thread I've read in a long time--ya'll are some funny kids, and the handle "OPs mom has a wooden nipple" is f*^$#ing amazing!
But on to other matters...
I'm thinking back to the interview last year with Dave Smith where he talked about having German keep a low profile, and trying to keep the spotlight off him as he recovers and develops. The question of him making a run for the front hasn't been seriously debated until now, and this makes me wonder how savvy Smith really is. When you look at the results, you see that German has run nearly every race with Colby Lowe (both sitting behind Girma). Now I haven't seen any race footage, so I have no idea whether these guys have been racing and Girma keeps coming out on top. What I do know is that Lowe is going to make a run for top 10, and if he and German have been training and racing together, I think German has a great shot of shocking some people--this thread shows just how far expectations have fallen for him.
I'd like to know, does anyone out there think that Lowe won't be battling for a top 10 spot this year?
Now I'm a Stanford fan, but I think and hope that German goes for it--and not so he implodes. But simply because I love great racing, and when German has been on, he brings heat.
Now winning?--I don't think anyone is going to reel-in Chelanga or McNeil, but i'm starting to think that German is going to make the chase pack a lot more colorful...
