Just ran across this over on another website:
Interesting, but probably still sponsored by Asics so no Salazar for them.
I just came on here to post this, so /bump!
Keep in mind Salazar is very religious, so the Halls would actually be a decent fit with him.
I'm hoping he goes somewhere else, though, just to keep things interesting.
hard to believe he will leave Asics after what they have spent on him. Where would he go if not Nikeland?
he does seem to like training by himself, so he could go anywhere I suppose.
But it's true - he's off the mammoth track club roster.

Is Alberto Catholic? I am just guessing from his ethnic heritage. If so than that would not necessarily be a good fit with the Halls' beliefs.
A devout Muslim would also be very religious but not a good fit.
Good riddance.
There is no magic in Mahon like there was with Vigil.
Overfunded and under producing!
The question is what American coach has proven himself to be a great marathon coach? Not many I'm afraid.
Of the post collegiate coaches who coach marathoners:
Mahon- tried him
Vigil- retired
Squires- retired?
Larsen- Meb's coach, in Mammoth
Salazar, Schumacher- Nike
Hansen's- group/Brooks
McMillan- Adidas
Hudson- didn't work for Ritz.
Steve Jones- Did well with Torres, but heard the group disbanded.
who else is there out there? Pete Rea, Chapman, Scott Simmons?
Warhurst coached Greg Meyer to a Boston victory.
Maybe he'll move up to a Nissan dealership in Reno?

Sevene
i can't imagine him moving anywhere with how much he loves the mountains in mammoth... maybe colorado or flagstaff?
Nike could buy out Hall's $500,000 per year Asics deal so he could train with Salazar. How cool would it be to have the 3 great hopes from HS training together - Hall, Ritz, Webb. Pretty interesting.....
However, Hall seems like such a soloist that he'll choose someone like Irv Ray who will only have Hall as his focus. He can live in Big Bear. Train by himself and go down to Riverside for his workouts with Irv at the watch.
The Halls are clannish. He'll be back home in Big Bear for sure.
Where is the mammoth track club roster?
Runmammoth.com has not been updated in some time. Is there another website for them?
riv is likely. hall is a so cal guy. plus sara makes big bucks with asics with her idol looks.
Ummm.... ever heard of Jack Daniels?

Why would they ever do that? That makes no sense at all. If it's known that Hall desires to run for Salazar (or any other Nike coach) why shouldn't Nike tell him that they'd give him $30,000 a year plus bonuses since he's the one that's desperate? Okay so Hall says no, and they say, "fine, good luck finding the coach you want. If you really want this one, you know our offer." The bottom line is that in a situation like that, the athlete will get low balled to the extreme.
They're going to be sponsored by God from now on!
Word on the street is that he will be training up for Boston under the watchful eye of Hal Higdon.
His life is in So Cal.
