These guys are looking legit. no ones mentioning these guys but they could shock some teams at nationals. Could even give arkansas a run for their money in the south central region. Does anyone know how legit this course is?

Isn't Lamar also a place in southeast Colorado farmlands?
Considering they lost to Rice earlier in the season, I don't think they will even get to Nationals.

they beat rice the first meet of the season for them. and they are obviously much better since then. always look at the most recent results young grasshopper. tisk
I just took a dump, and decided to call it Lamar. The reason being after I took it, it reminded me of the program.
You're right, they have improved. They have now beat the distance powerhouse of Rice!!! Watch out world!
Analogizes for you SAT test takers
Stanford = Powerhouse ranked #1
Lamar = the dump I just flushed
I think Lamer is going to win Nationals. Look at these results! They even beat Stanford all the way back in 10th place!
Also this is clearly a legit course considering only 119 of the 173 runners broke 26:00. It makes sense since the competition at this meet was soooooo great.
It actually hurts being this sarcastic.
Why you racist son of a ...!!! Who are you calling dark horse?!
whitepony, you're an idiot. good luck breaking 35 in your next 8k race. what you're saying makes no sense, they beat rice the first meet, so if anything rice improved beating them the second time they faced each other. besides 3 guys sub 24 and the next 3 24:30 thats better than most bigger D1 schools in the country. look at mens teams such as washington, florida, texas, penn state, villanova, butler, and providence to name a few. this crappy lamar school has a much better program than these schools. they may not be a podium team at nationals but im sure they'll give arkansas a good fight at regionals and make nationals beating texas whos also in their region.
Cross Country times at a random course don't matter. I will bump this thread when Lamar doesn't make it to Nationals.

Sorry bud, but go back and re-read his post, you are the idiot.
Lamar has a solid team. There's no doubt about that. I'm pretty sure that they are clearly Not in Arkansas league though. Look at Stanford Invite results (where the Hogs ran), and compare teams that did Santa Clara as well. Arkansas had 5 guys running in the 23's at Stanford with a #1 who has finished in the top 10 in the NCAA meet. Lamar is solid without a doubt, but they're not in the league with Arkansas at this point. Also, Lamar appears to be quite the worldly team, with none of their top 6 coming from the U.S.
The Lamar group that lost to Rice only had 2 of their top 7 from the most recent meet.
The meet they ran in California wasn't as good as Pre Nationals, but there was some good talent at the top. Peterson and Handa were both top 15 at the Stanford Inv, ahead of Unterreiner(20th PreNats), JT Sullivan (28th PreNats), Olson(53rd PreNats) and well ahead of Karlson(57th PreNats), Cody Schmidt(64th PreNats), Sodaro(56th PreNats) and Lema(67th Prenats).
Lamar had 3 guys right with those 2, so it isn't far-fetched that Lamar could have 3 top 50 guys from PreNats. Even if the next 2 finish 125th, that is still enough points for a top 10 PreNats finish.
Arkansas did put 5 in front of Peterson/Handa at Stanford though, so I would still think Arkansas will handle the region easily.
I usid to run at Lamar. I gott my degees from there. I learnd so much at the schol. Lamar is super fast at running, and acadimically challeging. I was accually an honer student. If they did not give soouth east texas cajuns a places to learn and running really fast I probally would be working as a trunker or something. No doubt will they win everything, there the bests.

This is an accual quote from a Lamar runner, the school really is terrible. Now why this thread was started is a mystery to me. They have proven that they may be better than when the guy compared them to a dump he took. But, they are not in the league of the top 40-50 teams in the nation. Why people don't just run 1st and talk 2nd is a mystery to me. And run 1st, does not mean run at a california flat sh!thole meet, to clarify.
You forgot to change your name back...
Lamar won't even place top 3 maybe in even 5 at regionals (my prediction below). They will be in contention with UALR, and UTSA.
Arkansas
Texas A&M
Texas
Enough said.
What years did you run? I had BC as a coach there!
The Santa Clara meet has a measured 8k. Same course for years and years with no changes at Baylands Park.
