For the last ten days before a big race I would have a very tight, even painful, back and often stomach cramps including phantom appendicitis. It takes a real knowledge of ones body to separate what is a real injury and what is not. That comes with time and the luck of being right more than wrong.
So guys relax and enjoy. Maybe training should include learning deep breathing and how to relax so you don't tighten up for those who do.
