Hey guys and girl,
I'm beginning to think all my mapmyrun routes are off by couple hundred meters. Can anyone vouch for mapmyrun's accuracy?

That it's only off by a couple of hundred metres for distances of several miles based on a hand-drawn map that is then converted to distance is a good indication of its accuracy, isn't it?
i like the simplicity and functionality of this more:
It would have to be an incredibly crazy-hilly course to affect the distance.
Let's say everything is either up or down a 4% grade.
For a 10 mile run, you'll travel up .2 miles and down .2 miles. This is because, assuming and out an back route, it is 5 miles up uphill, so (5 miles*5%)=5*.04=.2.
If you care about the math side of things- it's essentially =squareroot(10^2+.4^2).
Using Pythagorems (sp?) theorem, you'll travel 10.008 miles. I doubt you'll notice the difference of 42 feet over 10 miles.
