Very interesting results. For those of us who thought Wisco. might be down this year, their demise was greatly exaggerated. And new kids on the block Minnesota ran mediocre, as did Toloff from MSU, who people were picking for 1st-3rd. Wisco still rules and there's nothing anyone can do about it yet.
However, yes, the Jeffersons and Brannen/Willis ran very well. They all proved their for real as milers running CC.
So ... so far Nova, Stanford, Colo and now Wisco. have flexed considerable muscle. NC State dominated the most, but the ACC is weak as hell this year. Ark. will respond tomorrow and I think those are your top 5 teams. Teams like NAU and EMU/CMU will fight it out for the rest of the top 10.
Looks like Wisco. has been sandbagen for the past month. You all are right they are a top 5 team. Ark. will kick ass tomorrow.
Toloff told me his achilles hurt his training the week of the race. I haven't talked to him since, but I'd imagine it affected him during the race as well. Hopefully he'll be in top form for districts, MSU needs him.
Is Spiker not running this fall?
what happened to iowa's matt esche...i didnt see his name in the results..was he hurt and out for the season or just resting for regionals
I wonder if Trackshark coorespondants get paid???
Matt Esche went down early in the race. I heard that he has some stitches now.
Trackshark coorespondent Josh Spiker calling from the meet to report the women in order as he gave them. All he could give me was the team and bib number as they came rolling in live over the phone:
