This blog is for running, about running, and anything having to do with running. I share my experiences with running and racing and anything I find or read about. You are welcome to comment or share something anytime.
I’m Tim Beck and I run for the sake of fitness and competition.
I started running in April of 1997 in order to help deal with some stresses in my life in addition to preparing for my very first 5k race in the following June of that year. I’ve been running ever since and currently don’t have any intentions of stopping. This sport is my outlet that I can escape to each day or week. I’ve learned a lot about running since then, but, I admit that I have a lot more to learn and achieve with running. I’m not where I would like to see myself, but, I am not where I was when I first started.
I run in 5k and 10k races throughout the year and have a goal or dream of running in a half marathon someday. Hopefully that will soon become a reality. I use to be interested in possibly doing a marathon, but, the older I get, I really wonder if that is for me. So, I will settle for the Half.
Have a great run!
Tim
Way to be a dick. The guy is obviously trying to improve his life. There was a time when you couldn't run 3.5 miles in 40 minutes believe it or not.
tim, why do you think you are important enough that people would want to read about your run?

You apparently read it. No one forced you to.
Run went WELL.
I biked 3.2 miles up a 7.6% average grade a couple of weeks ago. It was really slow. I was using the granny gear and grunting for most of it. The average club cyclist could do a whole lot better and I'm sure a pro could do it over twice as fast. But I was pretty happy to have finally beaten that long, winding hill that used to make me get off my bike and do the walk of shame. I had a shirt on - and a helmet.
Made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich today. Used grape jelly instead of my usual choice of strawberry. It was a well alternative, but I got some on my shirt while I was making the sandwich. Had to take off my shirt to eat it.
I had two bowls of popcorn tonight during a rerun of House. With two bags finished, I still had 11 minutes left in the program. I struggled with the ultimate temptation, bleakly sstaring at Hugh Laurie's arrogant character, with nothing to chew, nothing to satisfy my hunger. Wrenching away from the kitchen cupboard, I forced myself not to heat another bag. I finished the stick of butter on the second bag to hold me off for the night. Not my most impressive night, but a very solid effort. No more dieting until Saturday now! My body needs a break.
I took a dump today at 9:17am. I started out quick and relaxed and everything was running smooth untill i hit a bump a long the way and had to push all the way home, i completely undressed in the middle. It made me feel lighter and more nimble. Im glad i got this out of the way early, frees up the rest of my day. It was not as easy as previous efforts.

Currently writing the post that you are currently reading. I'm starting to have my doubts about this post, that it's not really funny...but I must press on...must finish what I have started.
In approximately 11 seconds I will click on the "post message" button and be done with it, never to view this thread again.
