Basically they do doubles, one really early in the morning. The 2nd is around 11:00am or midday
Every time I trained with them on the 2nd session they were doing some sort of workout. These are the workouts I saw:
Zig Zags. 90% sprint on diagonal across football pitch, fast jog behind posts x 40
Tempo run on grass 40-60 mins. (this was 18 years ago before I'd even heard of a tempo run)
Track session. 12 x 400m 30/45 sec recovery in 60/61. Only 2 out of 6 of them completed the session
This was the only track session they did, The coach said as it was raining the grass was too splippy
The main difference with some European training (at that time at least) is the almost daily workouts and training on grass whenever possbile
After the 2nd session of the day they would all clear off to bed for a couple of hours. That is the main difference really they just run and rest
