We need to be training partners! I have very similar paces for my intervals. I normally run low 17's. I think I am ready to dip below 17 though.
4 minute rest makes it difficult to predict, but I'll go with 17:25.
17:12
I predict Runner Girl will "chick" you in the 3rd mile after which you'll DNF.
thanks for the answers so far everyone, but are your predictions track times or xc times?
17.30-17.40 in a track 5000.
Well in cross country I ran 17:08 for my 5k split in my 6k. Thats my pr! plus my rest is only 2:30 for mile repeats. I do need a summer training partner though! :-)
I did a workout similar to yours last friday.
I have a pr of 17:15 on the track. Last time I did mile repeats I took a 2 minute jog rest but I only did two of them then did a bunch of 300s. Trying to work on my stamina. That's what I lack. I feel like my speeds alright my 100 pr is 13.2 and my 200 pr is 27.9 but I can't freakin break 5 in the mile. haha!
I predict a difficult finish due to pacing issues.
I predict a 15:20 on the track, or a 19:10 in xc
Here's a better way of predicting:
Drink a bottle of 666 Energy Drink.
Go to the track.
Warm up.
Stretch.
Do a few 50-60 meter strides.
Make sure you have no coaches, no friends, no hot girls, no cheerleaders, no moms/dads, etc, at the track.
Run a 5km all out.
Check the time.
Cool down. Have a slurpee.
Your race time should be about 20-25 seconds faster than your time trial time.
hard to say,
I've been doing 5:50's with 4 min. rest but I recently ran 16:48.
It has more to do with how fresh/rested you go into the workout. When I'm running high mileage, 5:25 would be all-out. In a race, fully rested, that's my average pace.
weather?
I ran 16:29, dying abjectly, on the track and then three days later ran 4xmile at 5:29,5:35,5:38,5:32 w/about 2:20 rest (275m) on a hot day in the sun, a couple miles after doing a long hill hard. I'd predict just under 17 for you.
here's my latest workout: predict my 5k time!
1600 4:57
2 min jog
4x800 2:29, 2:30, 2:31, 2:31
2 min jog between all

are you saying that 4:57 is your pr, or was that your first interval of the workout?
Marsupial Sam says you'll both do 18:36
low 17's (17:07) but this is tough because you are all over the place on your times. Next time out try to run a more consistent pace for all 3.
Intervals don't predict well when you run like you probably race. Too fast at the beginning, slow second mile and then a slight rally in the 3rd.
High school tactics.
15:44
17:35
