Ritz was really cool when i met him. Believe it or not he was very down to earth. Scott Larson was cool, he was super nice too. He even stopped one of his workouts to talk to us.

Brian Diemer...he was my coach in college. On a one-time basis, Rod DeHaven was really cool when I met him a few years ago. Tim Broe seemed nice enough, though when I met him he wasn't in that great of mood.
Ran the Lincoln Half-Marathon with Bill Rodgers. Definitely a class act!
Received a finishers photo with Bill in it. Sent it to him, he personally autographed it, thanking me for the run and sent it back!!! Definitely a classic!
Also, ran twice with Lynn Jennings during 5k races. Ran the entire race together, cool experience just bs'ing. Another class act.
Out of pure luck, finished the Chicago Marathon with Joan Benoit Samuelson underneath the clock with me!
I may not be an elite, but have run races with some of the best!!!! Very memorable experiences...
marcus o'sullivan great guy
mark coogan is a great guy too.
I went out for an easy run around Coronado Springs hotel one year the day before the Disney Half Marathon. I ended up running with a little guy who looked just like Bill Rodgers. It was, of course. He was a very down-to-earth, normal guy.
I seem to end up on the same airplane with Kenyan Elly Rono. He's very reserved and polite. And tall. I am amused watching him negotiate with the gate agents at the Birmingham airport after he won the inaugural Mercedes Marathon. He wanted to bring the big oversized cardboard check on the plane. The gate agent insisted on measuring it to make sure it would fit!
Finally, Joan Nesbit Mabe is great. Bubbly personality. Clearly loves to run.
The coach from Ohio State, Robert Gary was very cool in Indy this past weekend. We were talking to him about a ton of stuff about 30 minutes before the 12k was to go off and didn't even know he was running. When he said he should probably go do some strides to stay warm he commented he'd much rather hang out and talk with us than run such a long cross country course. Even when he came around for the first lap, he laughed and rolled his eyes joking right towards us - my son was absolutely thrilled!
Todd Williams at the 96 Tulsa Run.
Alan Culpeper at the 2000 O'Trials.
Adam Goucher at the 2000 O'Trials.
Well, I sorta of met Goucher. I did get his Fila spike after his 5k victory. So he has was damn cool for throwing his spike to me. Too bad though I never found him later to sign it.
Sol 'speak&spell' Richards
Laura Myketok, She was way cool and could drink with the best of us. We got her to come to the cresent city classic in new orleans and then the party was on. I was in charge of the elites and when we found out she had plantar fas we thought forget about the race just enjoy, she did and still ran the race and made top ten.
Adam Gellerstadt
JOHN MORTIMER!
Abdi Bile
let me use his atomic balm before a race
Webb is actually a good guy too, pretty chill away from the track.
J. Torres,
Pascal Dobert,
Inger Miller,
Chrstye Gaines--GREAT WOMAN. Fun to talk with and hang out. she spoke at a spring awards banquet at our HS, and we tried to hook her up with our throws coach who used to play football for the Lions. "Hey coach, we want you to meet Chrstye Gaines....She runs track..." GREAT NIGHT!
Adam Goucher--signed a fila ad for me.
Nolan Shaheed. talked to him last year at Long Beach St. got his autograph, and we got to talk for about 15 minutes about running. I beat him not too long ago in an 800, that was fun too! haha.
Last but not least, Regina Jacobs. Nice lady, too bad she's a druggie. I used to have nothing but compliments for her.
Met Suzy and Rod at the Big Ten cross country meet of 2000. Everyone was trying to get suzy's autograph then i noticed Rod just chillin' on the stage so i went up to him and chatted. Real cool guy, we talked about his olympic experience and he answered just about anything i asked. Then he attempted to take a picture with us with his pants down showin' his tighties. Hard to the core.
MALMO!
Without a doubt nobody comes close to Kevin Sullivan
Alistair Cragg.
Lynn Jennings. She's cool, classy, articulate, and gorgeous!
