I'm sick of hearing about those L.A. snots parading around with the Oly / WC medals. Lets talk about the real runners from the state of Oregon.
haha...real runners ehh? I wish these so called "real runners" won some "real" races.
Kerron is a WR holder and gold medalist. And yeah, I guess his down to earth demeanor and Christian lifestyle makes him a real big "snot"
Anyway, I can't imagine why sponsors wouldn't be throwing offers at him. He's 25 and just won the World Championships, I don't understand what Nike could want more.

Maybe because he is asking for crazy money; 100m money.....and let's be honest, he's not worth anything like that - he's a 400m hurdler who isn't looking likely to threaten the 47 barrier (which is the premise under which Nike signed him to the big $$$). Simple....
It sounds like an offer was indeed made and he just didn't think it was enough. As I recall, the buzz when he first emerged as world class was that he got a truly exorbitant amount ... he was still doing "flat" 400s back then, too. That was a different free-spending era, even if it was just a few years ago.

Yes, a different era; hee got the big bucks then because he was going to run the 46 time in the hurdles. Since then he's been an annoying talent to be honest; countless races he's blown as he stutters around the bend because he can't hurdle with both legs. ok he won in Berlin but that 47.91 was his only run under 48 for the year. That just ain't going to get you the big dollars. Nike want standout guys in the sport and will pay big for that; Clement appears unlikely to say the least to be one of those guys. So he asks for near a million a year which is just a joke and pretty stupid; in today's market he's worth barely (just barely) a quarter of that. He's still shopping it around at the big money and not had a reply I hear. Adidas wouldn't offer him $200k; they don't need a branded guy....[quote]
bump
"L.A. was too much for the man" sang Gladys Knight. Maybe KC should exit Westwood and go back to the obscure hinterlands. Better men have left L.A. It's tough to compete for attention in the most visible city on the planet.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
