I'll still hope for a WR if they can keep the pace to under 15 minutes per 5K, although they hit a 14:59 earlier

no, now they are back to sleeping!:-)
new strategy at breaking the WR lol one fast one slow and screw the negative/positive half splits
2:52, chances are the split was off...something like 1.05 and .95?
WR is done...out of reach
This is turning into one wacky race.
Geb's world record days are over...
3:14 then 2:41??????
haha I almost freaked when I saw 3:14 then 2:41 ... Half way makes it 1.1 and .9
Can Geb come back with a 61 off of a 63?? Not totally out of the question.

Yeah, 01:02:51 first half... he has to run like 1:01:07 to break the record, which is impossible, I think :-( but I think he can still run a very good time, even 2:04:50s...
3:14 was 1.1.
2:41 was 0.9
WR ain't going to happen, but mid-2:05 isn't bad.
Someone's got a lot of 'splainin' to do.
It looks as though the splits are off because they tend to average out... but who know's. 2:41 is 4:19 per mile pace. Remember Hendrick Ramaala's 4:22 during NYC Marathon a couple years back?
Well Geb's average pace is back to 2:59 now at least. I wonder where the rest of the lead pack is at.
A bit off topic, but I just looked at the marathon course. It's essentially an out and back. Pretty boring if you ask me.
Funny, we are all assuming these are Geb's split. Anyone actually watching the race??
So, a) how's Geb doing then? And b) how are you viewing this?
Thanks.
I have no idea how Geb's doing. Just watching the KM split for the lead group and assuming he is up front.
Somsoma isn't viewing the race, he's just pointing out how it's funny that we are all assuming these are Geb's splits (there is no name on the splits page).
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
