While browsing the net I found some kind of dutch approach. It seems like it has made some good runners, to mention a few:
Joost Borm 1500m 3.38.3
Ad Buys 10000m 29 min
Joke Kleyweg (woman) marathon 2.24
Patrick Aris 3000m 7.57
Carlien Harms (woman) 10k 32:00
Jan Korevaar 10000m 31:00, marathon 2.18.50
Vincent Hoek (youth) 800m 1.48
Edo Baart 10000m 29 min
Some other thing i noticed is that quite some people claim this led to a "breakthrough" in their training.
Here is the link to the approach, it is mostly written in english:

I have checked the times listed for the 14:40 5000m runner with Daniels vdot stuff. The 200s circle around Daniels' I pace, the 400s lie between T and I, and the 1000s lie around threshold pace.
This approach seems to allow for a lot of recovery tough. 200/200, 400/400 and 1000/1000. The program listed on the site doesn't go much further than 50mpw, even if you allow for 2k of warmup and 2k of cooldown. This seems tweakable, however.
Anyone tried something like this? Your thoughts?
