Nope, JB is just way to strong for any college runner. She could have an off day and still win by alot. She is so strong and to go with her strenth she has so much speed. Nope, can not be beaten this year.

Did you see the Prefontaine meet. Hahaha. No way!!!!!!
Absolutely possible. H1N1 is the great equalizer this year!
any given day...
No (okay maybe 1%, since anything is possible in XC)

Barringer is awesome but there are no guarantees in life. Anything can happen on race day.
True, but Barringer taking this one is about as close as you get, for high level competition.
Barringer could win NCAAs in sock feet on an off day.
Maybe with a hickory stick
When was te last time Susan beat Jenny at any distance?
Not looking forward that Barringer girl's post-race interview:
"I wanted a competition and I knew I would have one, because girls are really strong, and I really RESPECT my competitors, but I was feeling good so I just went for it from the gun, and by the mile mark I couldn't hear anyone and I just didn't know how far they were behind me... blah blah blah... but I really enjoyed it, and to be honest I was surprised with just how big the margin of victory was, but I'm proud of myself and what I've achieved as a college student and although I hoped I could win, I didn't assume I would, because anything can happen on race day and I know just how strong those girls are and you never know who will cause an upset on the day."
so funny

Susan will not beat Barringer.....she will however be beat by Florida's Rebecca Lowe. You heard it here first....

Does anyone else think Kiken could beat Barringer?
I think she has a good shot. She looked at ease when she lost to Barringer this season. She has been untested so far and I would love to see her pull the upset. She has looked very flued and effortles thus far, but everyone still seems to think Barringer will run away with it.
Anyone can beat anybody on the right day.
This race will be very similar to Shalane's race a few years ago - domination from the beginning.
I'd love to see a Gator win it, but I seriously doubt it. I have UF penciled in a 3rd team though. Go Gators.
sorry....meant to say that Lowe would beat Susan not Jenny. Barringer will run away with it
barringer may well beat kuijken, but to say anyone else will get close to the two of them is completely stupid. They are both on another level to any other girl toeing that start line. We all know Jenny's PR's, and Kuijken has a 2:02/4:05/8:56 to her name plus is a european champion at xcountry, no one else in the field other than Jenny (as well all know) has the range or speed to come close to that.
They're both capable of beating Kipyego's course record, but neither have shown that they can on Monday. I can't just hand it to Barringer, cuz maybe she can't hit the 19:34 that Kuijken ran last year. Maybe she can break 19:20. *shrug* At least the course is supposed to be fairly dry, just showers for the rest of the week with an 80% chance of a sunny weekend.
Thinking that Jenny B wants to go out in style (big reason to come back for final XC and not go PRO). It will be on after the first downhill (start). Anyone that goes with her risks a serious meltdown later. I suspect most will pack up and make a play the last 3k. By then JB is 15-20 seconds clear.

I can't beat Bekele.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
