I am a fairly good runner/triathlete who for the last three or four years has had a somewhat chronic problem with my hip flexors. My left hip flexor is constantly aching, even when just sitting or doing nothing. Both sides are very tight, and I try and stretch them as much as possible to alleviate this, but it really doesn't seem to help. A local chiropractor has found that my gluteus maximus muscles are somewhat weak, possibly causing the hip flexors to compensate by being tight. I am also doing exercises to try and fix this, but once again to no avail. Is there anything else out there that people with painful hip flexors have done to fix this problem? Any advice would be appreciated.
