Our high school can turn out a top girls team year after year, but the boys team sucks. Why does this happen and how can we fix it?

yes, there are high schools were both teams are good - North Penn PA
Mt. View, Utah
Dana Hills, CA - double state champs last year.
However, my school has the same problem - it largely comes down to better coaching and/or more motivation on one side.
How about Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn?
Holy Trinity and Melbourne HS...both in Melbourne FL.
Both have produced state championship programs on both sides, along with individual state XC champions...
This fall, Kayla Hale of Holy Trinity headed off to Duke...while Brian Atkinson of Melbourne HS looks to capture another individual crown.
West Plains, Mo.
(Historically, at least)
Fayetteville-Manlius High School has, pretty recently, been national champions on both the girls and boys teams
Lee's Summit West HS
Lee's Summit, MO
Double state champs in MO last year.
in States like Montana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona etc... on the Rez or nearby towns that have a large Native American population there is a good chance that both the boys and girls XC teams are good or dominant on their State level....same usually goes for basketball....
Mountain View HS
Mountain View, CA
Gig Harbor HS in Gig Harbor WA
Fayetteville-Manlius HS, Saratoga HS, Shenendahowa HS and Burnt Hills-Balston Lake HS all in New York's Capital Region all have good teams on both sides.
Fayetteville Manlius (NY)
Have had both the girls and boys as national champs in cross country in the last few years.
