Dude, it just goes to show again that no person(s) is (are) 100% good nor 100% evil. Hitler loved Eva Braun and loved his dog. Ariel Sharon loved and raised his own children. You would never imagine monsters like that cuddling, hugging, being a dad, shedding tears of love, but they WERE. JFK/LBJ were libs too. Sheese... you got me. I'm a democrat and a liberal and I haven't a clue as to why we are wasteing our time over there. The U.S. troops don't hardly even fight. The death count says that. They just sit in their humvees and call in airstikes. They don't care how many innocents are killed. And then for each innocent Afghani killed, guess what ? 100 new terrorists are born. Every little kid who experienced the murder of their loved ones by U.S. troops grows up to become a terrorist. An endless cycle of pain, violence, and death that will go on for decades and decades. Tit for tat, face saving, payback, stupid claims of honor, ad infinitum. What a stupid war.

I don't get this. Why do so many people rant against Bush, Cheney and other Republicans for 'not volunteering their kids'?

Do these people think that the US laws should be changed such that a parent can still legally make such decisions for an offspring 18 years or older?

I certainly wouldn't want to live in a country where the parents of a legal adult can 'volunteer' their child.

My statement was meant to be neither pro or anti war in Afghanistan. Americans are not very well informed.
