I put ice on my hip/groin area, and I can feel a somewhat cold sensation down my quad, even toward my knee. I'm guessing this is a nerve issue? I've never had this happen before. Thanks.

Check for a pulse. You're probably icing right over your femoral artery. Not really unhealthy.
Thank you. I do believe I've been putting the ice over the femoral artery. That makes sense. Thanks again.
Last poster spot on. The femoral artery runs right down there by the hip flexor. Physio said to me if you feel a chill down your leg, you're icing the artery. It's not dangerous, he said, but it's best not to make it too cold, and probably safer to stay to the outside (eg, if it's your left hip flexor, stay more towards left hip with ice).
