Confirmed---the spaniard is DQ'ed.
You've got to be kidding. They ran terrible races, very slow pace and yet they hung in the back. They were lucky to place as high as they did, but not where they should have been with their talent.
you are celebrating mediocrity? what the hell is wrong with you?
it is 3 women we had in the race! 3 freaking women!!!!!!!!!!

check the PBs of those in front of them, hot shot.

All faster than 4:05 or whatever they ran, hot shot.
There is no way you're going to tell me they would win, by running more slowly than the runners in front of them.

Leading the whole way isn't usually the way to win a wordl-class 1500; that's what they would have had to do to make the race a faster-than-their-PRs-type race. There's no reason to make yourself a sacrificial lamb just to make the rce faster.
And, yes, it's easy to say that they should have been in better position, but learning how to get into position is an acquired skill, and is also part luck. All three could have done better in this regard, although that doesn't mean they ran a bad race. Doing everything right in a physical, talented 1500m World Championship final is damn hard; that's how it should be when you're racing the best in the world.
Lastly, I fail to see how being happy about a medal and two other top-6 finishers (that's saying half of the six best female 1500 runner in the WHOLE F***ING WORLD are American) is celebrating mediocrity. That doesn't mean it wouldn't have been nice to do better (I'm sure Wurth-Thomas and Willard are at least a bit pissed not to have medaled, and as excited to be on the podium as I'm sure she is Rowburry believes she could have won), but, as fans, when things go this well you're allowed to celebrate.
I'm a Sox fan and I was pissed as hell for a couple minutes after we lost to the Rays in the ALCS last year, and I'm still not happy about it; but I don't think that made the whole season a waste. I enjoyed large parts of it. That's how I feel about our US 1500m women this year: it would have been great to win the gold, or another medal, and I'm a bit disappointed that didn't happen because I honestly believed we had a shot, but, looking back, I can't really complain about how things went.

What a bunch of namby pamby excuses.
Now go and convince the best runners in the world of your theory, since that's exactly what they do.
