Americans have a chance at a team medal? Where is Moody?
great run by Desireé Davila, 3 minutes faster than her PR.
No, China Gold, fourth and fifth.
Nice race by Desi Davila!

I guess not. China 1, Japan 2, Russia 3.
another scam by the Chinese! Turtle blood!
And now 2.5 hours of sleep before a couple more exciting races.
When i watched the race on link here, i was wondering why there werent any fast men to win it. Not even some fast "amateurs" or "locals" inthe 105 - 107 range.cheers

Just saying, if that's what indeed happened.
Not sure what you are saying here. But I was in the Chicago race. Ran with Goucher for a bit in the beginning. She had a OTC Man pacing her at the race. Their strategy there was to start off slower, and close fast. Our first mile was 5:20 ish, then mile two was 5:16 ish, and just kept getting faster.
She said the goal was to work on her kick after being tired from a long race.

the best international result for the Hanson Brooks team since Brian Sell's 9th.
Excellent run...
"no fast local men to win it"
?!

Good question.
1) No prize money
2) The raced closed out months in advance, so most amateurs in the 107 range did not enter in time. Most people wait to see if they are in shape and healthy, but this race you had to register back in like Feb or March for an August race.
Note: Moody only 3 minutes off her PR.
a lot of PB times being set here despite the heat.. 2 of the 3 Kiwi women PB times by at least a couple of minutes. Same for the first aussie.
i appreciate the dissection of m y inquiry - didnt want to take much space.
Ya know what i mean: men living and running in chicago, residents, fast runners from nearby cities or neighboring states, visitng foreigners, african regulars on the road racing circuits...yes...clearer?!
Why do a lot of women wear hats? For their ponytails?
I think Kara raced within her means. It wasn't a bad race for her, she didn't look ill or pass out at the finish. People, including herself, hype her to run these fast times and win these big races, but she's obviously not there yet. Hopefully the hype will die down now.
Crazy Brits! They were moving pretty good for 26.2... "Maybe they could have run a bit faster?"
Loved how the one shook it real nice...
Not ill? Apparently you didn't realize that Goucher threw up twice at least that we saw after the half-way point. And I would disagree she hypes herself. You guys are pumped because you couldn't wait to tear her down. Typical. Only came on here to see results, won't be on here again for another year.
Goucher just isn't competitve on the International scene.
