Even if he has a full year of preparation under Hart and is able to beat him next year, he'll not be able to hang on for the next Olympics I think. Merritt has youth on his side.

Wariner = Webb

Ouch - that was harsh ! Big difference between a silver in the Olympics and Worlds and not even getting getting off the couch and wiping the hot wing sauce off your face.
Uh, Wariner has world titles and Olympic medals and is still clearly #2 in the world. That hardly equals Webb. That was an extremely dumb analogy you just made. You should apologize to all of the letsrun "community" immediately and abjectly.
Wariner runs an event where America dominate. Webb's 2007 was the US equivalent of Komens season when he ran sick times then faded away. Not fair to compare the events.
No he'll never beat him again.
I agree, I don't think Webb will beat anyone ever again.
Merritt has youth on his side.
he is two years younger.
Wariner will dominate the next three years, including 2012. You heard it here.
He never will - not when it matters at least. Which is still in no way a slight to Wariner, he'll always be a solid second place.
It won't matter because when Bolt steps up to the 400M it is going they'll be competing for second and third place.

Give him a full year under Hart and he'll be back to mid 43's or faster. The only way Merritt can run under 43.6 is to ... well, let's just say he can't do it on his own. In a few years new guys are going to be in charge anyway and kick both of their asses.
Wariner didn't get back with Hart until May. He could see his strength fading even more, so did MJ, and it was back to Hart on his knees. He'll be fine next year.
yes, but not when it counts.
Not unless he gets on the same "program"
Wariner may as well try moving up to the 800, his 400 meter career is over.
White people are little bitches.
Satch sez merritt was a better hs runner - won VA state in 100,200 400- is still faster than Cool Shades in all events - harder worker, coach does not make much of a difference -Satch predicted several months ago that change to Hart might even make the pale guy worse - Wariner is a great athlete and is far from washed up.
If he gets back to his best he will as his pr is faster
That WC 400m was not that fast
Hate to say it but some here are overemphasising the influnce of a coach. I mean he could ditch all coaches amd replicate his pr training - but something else fron the athlete himself could be causing slight lack of form
The body is not a machine it has its own cycles
If a footballer - soccer expienced this nobody would notice. He would still arrogently shove the I'm No 1 finger up after every goal - even if he is really not even the best in his own City
2nd in the World isn't too bad and an improvement on last year
