Yes. That's her.
Yes. That's her.
Phoebe Wright called it a season after the race in VA. Very close in Marietta, GA with her 2:00.40.
This puts Vessey on the Worlds team.
Yeah, that Russian supposedly had a few "friends" who liked the clear stuff too. But they got into a tangle with some organization called the IAAF, or something, last year....not sure the whole story, but she doesn't see "those girls" any more.
Woo hoo!! Good for Vessey.
I just peeked in here to see how she did.
WOW! Big time breakthrough. Great for her!
It keeps getting funnier and funnier.
Why does she have to be on drugs because she ran a 3 second PR? I have seen plenty of runners go from the 2:00-2:02 range and then drop down to 1:56-1:57 and they were not on anything. Unfortunately, drugs have become such a problem in the sport we love that every time someone has a big performance they are immediately suspected of being on something.
Good luck in Berlin Ms. Vessey!
She just dropped the fastest American 800 in eleven years and # 7 all time.
tell me who has done that! This is probably someone from her camp...Flynn Management of family of someone who is on her nut sack! Reality Check buddy!
I totally agree with the above theory.
nearly 28 years old and dropping from 2:02 to 1:57 in one year. Its just not possible. I would equal it to a man dropping his PR from 1:48 to 1:43 in one season.
Anyone who has run 800m knows how long it takes to shave seconds off PR's and she has absolutely destroyed her's in the space of a few months.
I feel like it must really suck to be the sort of person who sees an awesome performance and immediately concludes, "she must be on drugs"
Come on guys... If she didn't want to get tested in Paris or London I'd guess she didn't want to get tested in Monaco as well.. So why did she run as fast as 1.57?
I totally agree she's done something really special this year, but it's not like she's coming out of nowhere timewise..

IT TOOK HER 8 YEARS TO GET FROM 2:04 TO 1:57! NOT A FEW MONTHS!
Yep, 8 years from 2:04 to 1:57, but 7 to go from 2:04 to 2:02.
hummm it took her months to go from 2:02-1:57....Do the math troll lady!
That was my point.
How many years was she competing dumbass? Must be nice to take off three years and come back and run 1:57......
and how many chances has she had to run 1:57 this season? At that level you don't run the fastest time you're capable of in every race. You run against the other people in the race.
Tell me what race she was already supposed to have run that fast in before you start bleating about drugs..
I have to say I don't know that much about the woman, and it is possible to go from 2:00 to just under 1:58 in a season, but what I did find startling was the ease with which she did it. When they showed the slow-mo on Eurosport as she crossed the line, she looked hardly out of breath and showed no discomfort whatsoever.
She's either a star in the making (albeit a rather mature one) or she's on something. Too early for me to decide at moment.
Above 2:02 to below 1:58.
