I got some Lunar Trainers on the advice of some LetsRun folks who assured me they are more stable than they look owing to the wide platform/outsole that is wider than the upper and they were right and my initial impression is that I love them. So I was wondering if the Lunar Racer shares that wide platform that extends beyong the sides of the upper or if it is a more traditionally narrow platform and thus as neutral as it appears to be. Hard to tell from the pic. Has anyone racing in the Lunar Racer found that the cushioning is too soft to make offer much responsiveness for that purpose?
I also found that I had to work a bit harder to run my normal pace in the Lunar Trainer than in regular shoes even though my legs just felt great in them. Is this because of the wide platform creating more "rolling resistance" or because the cushioning is more absorptive than responsive, or is it just my imagination (even though my impressions were verified by my HRM).
