Best list ever!
Best list ever!
Please. Joan Baez is another overrated hack. If she was Joan Smith she'd never have had a career at all and you know it.
Nice list and many great artists. Nevertheless, they'll all be long forgotten when books and movies will still be written and watched about Dylan. Everybody but trolls knows it - I take that back, trolls know it too.
The fact is, Dylan captured an entire era. You might as well argue against the genius of Picasso or Sigmund Freud or Charles Darwin or Isaac Newton.
I was never a big dylan fan but the man is a genius. He was a also a victim. He was knighted by the beat generation and the peace generation and he didn't really want the award. He is admired by his peers and I guess that is what is most important. Sometimes it is not a matter of whether the music holds up (which it does), but as with the Beatles it is a matter of what effect it has on the populace.

Sigmund Freud has already been proven to be a perverted hack. All he did was promote his own perversions and "adjust" psychoanalysis to be used to attack people he didn't like - and those people were anyone who was not of his own ethnic group. Freud was in actuality a horrible racist. Do your homework. Read Carl Jung's stories about Freud among others.

This is exactly why he is the most overrated. No one's out there comparing any of these other barely literate musicians to the great artists or scientists of human history.

Freud was a complete idiot, and Darwin was just confused.

Dylan was nothing more than an icon in an era that was thirsty for icons. Was Che the best revolutionist ever? James Dean the best actor ever? No, just the most popular icon.

What, no one wants to say Picasso was a hedonist who couldn't paint accurately and Newton was an angry alchemist who had Aspergers?
