I hope that's true. Fvckers need to be gone!

Moves Webb one spot closer....oh yeah he didn't make the team just like me and you.

ever heard of Athletics West?
What does this mean? I've read how many on here are suspicious of Salazar, and that he has some history of cheating. But what did he do? I'm not criticizing, I just don't know. Can you inform us uninformed on the matter?
Is anyone else here not excited by this? People are jumping around like it's New Years. This is not good for the sport, it's tragic.
Track and field and maybe cycling are the only sports like this. People weren't excited when Pete Rose got caught, they were sad. For some reason in this sport, many fans find joy in the fact that our sports top figure has been found to be a fraud. I can't see any positive side to this. Not only is our sports top figure toppled over, but our own cynicism is coming to light. I really cannot understand why people are actually excited or thrilled about this.
I think it's because everyone has thought Ramzi was an obvious cheater. I don't think Bekele or El G or Geb or Lagat getting busted would bring joy to people's hearts like this does.
Hey Ramzi...
Boom! Outta Here!
you're trying to tell me people weren't excited when A-Rod's name came out? Get a clue.
No one is saying this is positive publicity, but it's nice to see a cheater outed.
agreed... probably 99% of the NFL / NHL is on some type of PEDs and the public could care less and in fact embraces the physicallity of the sportdo ya want a popular sport or a miniscule little niche that no one cares about?

Ban Ramzi for life. We dont need blatant cheaters like this ruining the integrity of the sport. Congrats Willis and fvuk you Ramzi.

Agreed. Willis should get to kick that cheater square in the nuts to make him cough up his medal. HAHAHHA
"His old training partner, El Guerrouj, can't be too happy about this development, either."
-my thoughts exactly. aouita, morceli, el gerrouj- total cheats. i think webb was doping 2 years ago as well. when your training is so completely meticulous, you want to make sure all of the bases are covered. i think drugs comes into play here.

Drugged performances won't make track & field a major sport anymore than a clean NFL would turn football into a niche sport.

Largely no. I'm a Sox fan, but also a baseball fan, and what happened was bad for baseball. Of course I want to see Arod do poorly, but I don't want to see him get caught for doping. Him getting caught for drugs ruins the sport just that much more. Yea a lot of casual Sox fans were happy, but for true baseball fans there was nothing to be excited about. It's like people being happy for a murder conviction, I just don't get it.
Everyone is glad for the same reason that you would be glad if you thought someone had stolen from a friend of yours and several months down the road, the bastard is caught. We're pleased that justice is served.
There will always be people who try to circumvent the laws of the land. But, techniques such as these (subjecting older samples to new methods for years afterwards) will both catch more of the cheating bastards as well as sufficiently discourage others who might be tempted to cheat.

They seem to work really hard as well..and with workouts like 12*1000 close to threshold pace and 18-20 mile tempos there aerobic base is killer. Very much what Lydiard was talking about with he and his group. He also noted that marathon-style training helped improve all runners. If Lydiard had huge success by developing aerobic threshold I see no reason why others could not as well (ie Hall, Ritz, Meb, Kastor, Wetmore and CO etc..)
Just because you take drugs doesn't mean you don't have to still work hard every day. Hell, thats the reason you would take EPO, so you can do monster workouts and recover faster and do more workouts.
I wonder about Webb too...how do you go from 3:46 to 4:00 in less than one year?

Injury? He pretty much quit after the trials anyway; may have been able to work back down to 3:50 if he's kept going.
If Webb's a doper, he's been doing it since high school (3:53).
I'm convinced Webb's clean because he's been running amazing for a good while and progressed. Ramzi just "appeared" via the juice.
Ramzi had all the "tells"
look at the wiki picture of him receiving the gold.
Jennifer Tilly could of told you he was cheating
