i think if we could truly eliminate the dopers in the sport that you would see quite a bit of caucasians (americans, british, etc) performing in the top 5 on a continuous basis in distance running. the sprints are a total joke, especially for americans.
but the distance runners in america are by far the least doped runners out there. everybody hates the speculation but these guys like ramzi who show up for 1-2 meets and blow everybody away are not super genetic freaks. they are doped to the gills runners who spend all of their time and training planning for when the training and drugs will have the most optimum effect, namely they time this around olympics and wc. just a shame, really, for guys like willis. should probably have the gold.

No, not quite a few. There are a couple of non-African men that can compete at that level:
many at 800m
a few at 1500m (Willis, Webb, Baddeley)
very few at 5000m (Mottram, Tegenkamp in the right race and possibly Rupp/Fernandez in the future)
very, very few at 10000m (Fernandez/Rupp may crack 27min at some point)
A couple in the marathon (Hall is the only guy making it happen in fast races).
This should eliminate Ramzi from the World Champs and allow some honest to win this time. Good.
It's just too bad that (unless he admits the extent of his cheating or they find evidence of it) that he'll keep his world titles from 2005 and his silver from 2007.
