You are correct: ANIMAL fat & protein is far more dangerous than PLANT fat & protein.
Animal fat is largely saturated (unhealthy), while plant fat is largely unsaturated (healthy). This is very well known. Less well known is the difference between animal protein and plant protein.
advantages of plant protein:
-usually come with more fiber
-usually come with protective phytochemicals
-usually less apt to raise insulin production
-usually associated with lower body weight
-usually associated with lower body fat
-usually associated with lower IGF-1 which is usually associated with lower cancer risks
-usually associated with lower energy production/environmental impact costs
-usually associated with lower net acid production
-usually associated with more of the nonessential amino acids, which might in themselves be protective, although they are not as usable as the essential ones
-usually associated with less kidney damage in the long term
-they tend to be lower in the sulfur-containing amino acids. The ones with sulfur (cysteine, methionine) tend to oxidize more easily and raise homocysteine levels, which is bad.
THE MORAL: GO VEGAN!
