Oh yeah, you're right. I'm not sure where I got 4:06 from.

You are aware that she closed a 5000m in 56sec and has run the last 1500m of a 5000m in 4:06? And that wasn't off a painfully slow pace: that was at the end of her 14:11 WR last year. she could run 3:55 or 3:56 for 1500m so yes, she can break 2:00.
I bet she could break 2... multiple times during an interval workout! 3 x 800 @ 1:59.9 with lots of rest, maybe 5-10 minutes.
Anyone have an idea why she hasn't tried the 1500 in a grand prix or in major championships?
Same reason why so many of us never do a triathlon: no interest.
Ask Dame Holmes.
using this :
i'd input 55 - 56 for 400m ( she has run 56+ in last lap of slow races, but that is a flying lap ) & about 14'10
->~ 1'57 .2 - 1'58.6 , 3'51.8 - 3'53.6 , 8'10.3 - 8'11.8 , 29'42.4 - 29'49.2
i actually think she couda gone faster than 14'10 ( wasn't best paced race ), so maybe even quicker than above is possible
I was going for outside the 2 because a lot of 1:58 girls opend the season just oustide the 2
However, had a rethink. Had seen 58 but but not 56 and if she did the 2:03 800m split then 1:58/9 looks more likely
These 1:56 and 3:53 estimates are getting carried away. If she could do 3:53 she would run at least 1 1,500 as she would be world No.1 by a long way
Also comparing a 14:10 5km guy is not too relevant because of the strength difference. I also knew a distance specialist with that time who could do a 1:53. But another distance specialist I know did 14:40 and 3:47 for 1500m and that is not going to happen either
Yeah, I noticed that, but for some reason I thought she ran 4:06 at the Olympics and in her world record.

Could she? I think so.
Only if she ran fast enough
I think they should pick a fast ethiopean runner to be the next Wonder Woman.
