One pacer only?
2 pacers look strong thru 23K.
I just sit here and read in amazement.
I consider myself a fairly good runner ... my 3k PR is 8:50. Geb just owns my time repeatedly during a marathon. INCREDIBLE. Almost makes you want to take up fitness jogging.

Huh? If Geb did that, then he probably wouldn't be able to come back the next year and get another million $$ which was the point of my comment.
Even responding and making a point like that shows you don't know anything about Geb.
1) you think he'll intentionally slow down (would never happen)giving him a good chance to break it again
2) you just think he's only capable of 2:03:54, and that he'd improve next year.
If two, why couldn't he improve upon say a 2:03:20 if he could run that, if you assume he could approve upon whatever shape he's in now.
Geb will never hold back to give himself a chance for more money. He's not a bubka. He's a real athlete all the way through.
Still wet pavement....
Geb looks controlled...
24K (1:10:19) = 2:55 kilo

Unless geb puts it out of his reach.
What was up with 1450-1422? the whole course is flat no? That could have cost him 20 seconds over the entire race give or take.
That could cost him the record period. shit like that doesn't make sense and makes me wnoder if the split was off.
the thing i don't get is how they don't sense the difference in pace. i mean 10 seconds a mile is noticeably different. of course when i pace ndereba to the wr - she was running something like 20 seconds per mile slower than she should have been at the start. she just wouldn't stay with me.

HE'S ALIVE!!!
Haha...just kidding. Hey Rojo.
The TV signal with some minor freezing...
there is one guy on bicycle showing them the shortest path in the road...
The face of Geb pretty much like when he set the Half marathon WR in Arizona... relaxed... no grimacing...
26.2 beers!! i dont know???
2:03:38 pace at 24k - if he can hold it.
does anyone know the 30km split when he broke the WR?

I thought there were only 4 corners on the entire course?

He sped up in Berlin, didn't he? (Last 10km.)
Kales deserves a lot of credit. He can easily take Geb thru 35K. He looks very relaxed. Might we have a race?
