Nah, Its worth a 2:04:30, even Sell said it wasn't that bad. Hall just had a really bad day and Wanjiru had a good one, that doesn't mean its worth sub 2:04. There was a guy about 40s back as well, was he running a sub 2;04:40?

3/4 of the decent D1 teams out there are nike sponsored...
does Nike play a little more favoritism and use a little rougher business tactics than the hippies would like...yeah sure
who cares?
ever since nike has increased its involvment in the sport...the sport has improved...bottom line

hmm fernandez's injury not even close. how could that be the worst? he wasn't even gonna get the top 2 places and wasn't promised third.
It is def. one the worst if not the worst. All we need is for Fernandez to become the next Franklin Sanchez or Andy Powell. (no knock on either of them) Their troubles in college were tragic and if Fernandez ends up never becomming anything because of an injury that would be extremely tragic as well.
After that i'd say Bekele getting a stress fracture. We'd have some crazy world records right now if not for the few signicant problems Bekele has had in his career. Hopefuly this doesn't stop him from breaking any more track records in his career.
Can I get an Amen for the "Polar Opposite Express"? You couldn't have said it better. As someone closely associated with some of the athletes like yourself that were in Eugene, it was a very frustrating experience dealing with all that crud. I have no desire to ever return to Eugene. I left with a bad taste in my mouth and am hoping that if anyone with a conscience whatsoever at USATF will attempt to get some changes made this weekend at the USATF convention in Reno.
It is not dig's fault that he/she is not aware of the situation. You had to be there and in the middle of it. The whole situation at the Olympic Trials was shady at best. Nike seems great for the sport on the surface but anyone who knew what was going on could tell that Nike was manioulating who was in what heat, who advanced or got DQ'd. It was VERY poor but at least your average fan thinks the trials went well.
Best: Amy Yoder Begley- That body makes me wish that Olympic Trials "masterpiece of a race" was a 20K.
