I really was not trying to slight Adams State. Being fully funded is well within the rules; I was just stating a fact within the frame-work of an ongoing discussion.

My apologies. I simply overreacted to your post.
who cares about how many foreigners, the top coaches all improve small local talents as well, and if a good foreigner is coached improperly they wont run well, theres lots of examples of that, just check the results from last year.
predictions:
1. adams st
2. western st
3. grand valley
4. queens
5. chico
6. alaska anchorage
7. mines
8. harding

acu seems to be done... queens is on the rise as well as GVU, mines, western wash, and southern indiana
1. Adams
2. Western
3-8 looks to be a toss-up between these teams: GVSU, Chico, Queens, Mines, Alaska Anch, Western Wash.
ACU, Harding, and Southern Indiana may factor in as well if they have enough depth.

It would be smart to hold off judgement on ACU until their fall roster is posted. (hint, hint)
4. edinboro? what do you know that we dont? they were way back last year and even good recruiting doesnt bump you ten places
Western Washington will be higher. They return their top 6 from last year, including 3 XC all-americans (Welling 14:15/30:02, Grimes 14:40, Medhaug). They get Tomsich 3:47/14:30 back. They will be top 10. They have top 5 potential if everyone is firing and clicking on the same day.
ACU will also be up there too. They have two sub 30 10k guys and a 8:42 steeplechaser. Compared to most of the other teams on this list, they will have three in before most other teams have their #1.

Keep sliding them up. (hint, hint)
I think it would be wise to look which top ten teams lost how many of their 5 scoring runners. Here is a list of the top ten teams from last years nationals:
Adams
Western State
Chico
ACU
Grand Valley
Harding
Queens
Minn. St. Mankato
Mines
Western Washington
For posts responding to this please list which of the 5 scoring runners from these schools are not running this year, what reason, and if they have the depth or recruiting to cover that loss.
If a team loses some/any of their top 5 doesn't this mean they have $$ to recruit with? And would likely replace the studs they lost?
not necessarily, a teams improvement normally comes from a few guys improving a lot over the track season or summer so you never know. it will also be interesting to see how the middle distance track runners do in the cross season, like luna from metro and wickman from chico, if some mid d guys step up from some teams that could bump them up some. a lot of runners hit huge improvements in track and then continue in cross.
how about some individual predictions...
1. braun vs. crouch (which coach to route against?)
3. medigovich vs. kirwa vs. rebeun vs. donnan vs. cheseto, a few other kenyans...
how many top ten spots will the rmac take???
with 6 guys sub 14 in the 5k this year im gonna go with 5 or 6 outa 10
Bumped?
bump
I think this needs to get bumped again.
bump
UMASS LOWELL ... esp with ma n*ggaaa RUBEN SANCA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's all about this Saturday! See you fellas on the starting line.
adams: won't score 15 points, more like 35 points at the lowest, i predict a team score of 1, 2, 7, 14, 24 for 48 points. western goes 7, 10, 17, 27, 33 for 104. then a big gap...
umass lowell 5th up to 2nd as a team!!?? hahahaha
I think you are underestimating both teams.
I think Adams will be closer to 35 and Western will have wayyyyyyyy less than 104.
The 3,4 and 5 should be much better than you have them listed.
Guess we will see though. Love the blog you have!
