John Crawford (the coach of Stevens Tech) had nothing to do with those recruits. It was all Jack Daniels and Matt Moran....
JC recruited guys like terry, joslyn, and cloke that began cortlands ascent into the upper echelon of the AR
When those three guys went to Cortland Jack Daniels was still the Cross Country coach. He was coming back from one year off (in which JC coached). JC still coached track that first year but he was not the reason that cloke, terry, and joslyn went to Cortland
How good does Wager look in the early season? Could he have good range like Cloke did? It's too bad that Greenlaw had to drop out of Paul Short, it would have been great to see their top 5. (I think Obrien is just a bit off that pace.) What a good team no matter how or why they all ended up at the same school.
Terry wasn't recruited. He transferred from Ithaca. And he was at another school before he transferred to Ithaca. He found a team where he had an actual chance at being the best runner on the team and he took it.
Didn't Terry start at Oneonta? Or am I thinking of someone else?
Terry technically started at Delhi I beileve. I'm not sure why I think that. Does anyone know for sure?
Terry= Delhi, Ithaca, Cortland
Terry actually started off at Kingston College of Art in London. Actually, it's all on his Wikipedia page:
weak...he was barely in the top 5 for Cortland...I doubt he transferred anywhere to have a shot at being top dog...maybe it had to do with money or education?
Looks like Hamilton has the big meet this weekend.
Cortland (most likely still just trying to find a lucky 7 man that gets to make the trip with the top 6 to nattys)
Plattsburgh (wonder if they'll hold anyone out again this week or run their top 5 together)
Ithaca (have been running their top 7 lately)
UoR (probably going to run everyone also)
Oneonta is actually at delhi tonight for their meet this week
NYU at metros the 10th (maybe they'll show their cards a little more at this meet)

Cortland has a very strong top 9 (if anyone actually looked at the JV Race at Paul Short, that would be clear, 9 under 26 is pretty solid).
There is no "lucky" man, but there are going to be two "unlucky" ones by the time Nats roll around.
My guess is as good as yours, but I\'m gonna say, in no order, that Wager, Nally, DuBois, Henry, O\'Brien, DeRusso, and Scrafford will be toeing the line at Hanover for Cortland.

Correction, 9 under 26, assuming Greenlaw ran to his ability.
Wow, not picking Jerry Greenlaw for the top seven? I can't see him not making that team.
READ MY LIPSNYU will not go all out at VCP this week, not with a trip to Oberlin the following week. Watch them pack up and run a hard tempo no matter how fast the race is they will be controlled, even if it means finishing together in 20-27 places. Dont be suprised if they dont even run everybody.mcdonughs only concern is having his whole team ready for SLU.

thats fair...good point...I shouldn't have phrased it that way...Cortland's 7 guy will be a pretty fast dude in the grand scheme of things looking at all the athletes competing at regionals...I just meant that there is a bit of a gap between their 6th and 7th man...there are a lot of guys vying for that 7th spot to get to go to nationals on cortlands team and I wouldn't be surprised if Cortland only runs from 7 down to get a better idea of who that 7 man will be
I don't know the order of the top 5, but I'd have to guess that by the end of the year the names will be Henry, Greenlaw, Nally, DuBois, Wager. Not sure who will be 6th and 7th. I know Jerry has not run up to his potential yet, and I don't know what happened at Paul Short, but I do know he has sub-25 ability and they will need him in their top 5 if they want to win nationals. Hopefully we'll see them at full strength at Regionals.
Why wouldn't racing an 8km 5 weeks before regionals be good for their regional performance....the man is running out of time.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
