Question to runners out there who may use treadmills or eliptical trainers for workouts when injured or conditions force them to cross train. Considering buying either of the 2.
I like the eliptical for low impact but do not like the range of motion. The treadmill would need to have a min of 12mph.
Any suggestions?
I have a Sole E55. I am 6' 2" and the stride length (ROM) is comfortable. I used it quite a bit this spring while rehabbing an achilles injury. Try to pick up one used off of Craigslist. Tons of ellipticals listed. Prices are good so risk is lower.
Go for the Precor AMT 100i. It is an amazing cross training unit. Your stride rate may be slower, but in terms of a more running specific movement at low impact, there is nothing better out there.
It stands for Adaptable motion trainer. It changes its elliptical pattern depending on your applied force direction and magnitude.
