I graduated from college a year ago and since then I have been playing around with running (50 mpw avg for the year).
In college I ran 14:43 5K and 30:48 10K. I want to give this whole competitive running thing one more shot. I want to train for a marathon, and since I was actually born in a small country with little to no olympic representation I think if I hit the B standard I can go (or do I have to hit the A?)
Anyway I'm looking for a solid marathon training program. I am looking to do something along the lines of 120 mpw with 4-5 doubles, 18-24 mile long run, and 2 tempos a week, slow long tempos like 8 miles at 5:30ish pace or slower and make sure I can do 10-14 miles at race pace.
I will gradually build up from the measly 50 mpw I'm doing now, but any other advice? Thanks
