What can you say...the guy likes making babies?
He should sell off his ear with the bite missing on Ebay.
The funny thing is he tries to pass himself off as all religious, what a crock.
Want to know why its not exactly great to own a 54,000 square foot home? Read some of the comments at the bottom of that article. Taxes, maids, landscaping, general upkeep...Add that to his alimony and child support payments and you can see why he is still fighting.
As for his home going into foreclosure, I will put my starting bid in at(to quote a "The Price is Right" contestant):
"One Dollar, Bob. One Dollar"
From the article:
The child support case involves Holyfield 10-year-old son, whose mother was initially awarded $2,000 a month in support. A flight attendant, she lost her job when airlines downsized in the wake of the Sept. 11, attacks, prompting her to return to court seeking an increase.
Seriously? She hasn't been able to find a job in the last 7 years?

It's amazing how stupid some entertainers can be about such things. Any athlete knows that they will only be making the big bucks for a few years, yet so many make huge lifelong financial commitments. A place like that probably costs around a million dollars a year just to heat, cool, and keep the lights on. Add into that all the staff that he probably kept around and you're looking at a hell of an annual expenditure even for a guy who made millions in his career. It's basically like buying a 5 star hotel, fully staffing the place, and then moving the family in and using the place as a private residence.
Evander made a typical mistake a lot of uneducated people make when they are in the twilight of their career in not downsizing their lifestyle. This makes him ignorant of financial matters and poorly advised. This does not make him a bad person, a deadbeat dad or some of the other things people are saying.
If you can afford it, there is nothing wrong with owning a large home and having lots of children. The fact is Evander was fierce competitor, a great representative of boxing, a very generous person and supporter of track & field.

Evander
1) Cheated on the sport in that he used PED's
2) Fathered 9 children who most wont have a father in thier lives.
3) Probably has superficial, sexist views of women
4) Is super materialistic as evidneced by his stupid house and other items.
5) Professes to be so religious, yet he lives life with contadictory morals.
Probably not a bad person, but damn stupid or caught up in the "game" , lifestyle of a hip hop video.
2k a month in child support!!!! That is more than I make (I don't have children though) but that seems outrageous to ask an increase on that.
This is unfortunate for a guy who form my experience was a very good guy. He was a supporter of track and field and even sponsored several track stars over the last few years. Tough to label the guy a deadbeat. When he had the money he paid his child support. Now the man doesn’t have it. Obviously he can’t pay. I’ll give him credit. At forty something he’s still willing to get his face clobbered so he can meet his financial responsibilities. Not the profile of a typical deadbeat. I think we forget that athlete are great at one thing, sport. That has nothing to do with being financial literate. Most people are forced to become financially literate when they don’t have money not when they are rolling in it.

So do Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell, what's your point?
i hope his money problems dont force him to fight anymore, he is slurring his words and his balance is off, he will probably wind up an invalid. more punches to the head will expedite that, it is sad.
