Of course it counts.
There is no 'direction' in a 100m. If they reversed the direction of an event that used bends, or ran the 200m with the straight first or without a bend then it wouldn't count.
Other than assisting with wind direction, how would the direction of a straight race have anything to do with the legality of performances.
There are no rules of orientation of a track (ie; facing north/ south etc) there are only rules regarding the shape and length of a track.

At the Heps at Yale this weekend, they ran the 200 trials Saturday from the finish line to the 200m mark (had a set of cameras there) and from what I heard did it Sunday, as well as reversing the direction of the straightaway races.
thats legal....it doesn't matter
