right I have had knee problems for a good while now and havent run in a year because of it...until today ( well I had done 3 jogs in the last 10 days, the 1st was 3 minutes, 2 others 5 mins.)
My condition having improved lately I went to the track earlier and jogged 7 mins, stoped as it was getting painful. The thing is the knees always feel much better running on the toes so I chanced goin on the track.. i ended up doing 200-250-300-300-250-200 was surprisingly fast enough (32-41-48-48-40-32) with 1-1'30-2-2-1'30-1' rec. but knee was always painful towards the end of the rep ( doesnt seem worse now...). My other knee has patello femoral syndrom so I shouldnt b running with this alltho i dont feel pain runnin really (only a bit after)...
My team/coach is pressuring me to run an important meet in 10 days as they have nobody on the team that can match what I can do even untrained thats why I ran tonight in the 1st place...
Anyway, I had a quite good level before stopping last year and hope am very motivated to get back one day but I am afraid that racing so soon will fck me up as my knees are still very week and painful and Doc says I shouldnt run yet. But its very important for the team to have me and my coach who has done a lot for me is insisting a lot. I have been his best ever athlete but right now I feel he is ready to sacrifice my future for this hypothetical benefit for the club which dissapoints me..
Bottom line: SHOULD I RUN ?
