So last season my PR for a 5k was 18:00. Iv been running all my life, but i am just now takeing it to heart. So after XC season i was running 40-50/week. i went through a growth sper during that time and injured my hip and perty much killed my feet in one month. so 4 months later i am just recovering. Iv been running 2 miles a day to avoid injury. So now that you know were i stand. do you think if i go beast mode this summer and during cross, i will be able to run a 16:00 5k?

The chances are that you'll just get injured again. You might be able to run 16:00 if you don't but you'd be better off aiming for 17:00 and training conservatively. At least you'll have a season then, there'll be plenty of time later to train when your body is ready for it.
I second what Sam said. It's definitley possible but not worth the risk of injury at this point. If you keep at it slowly, you can go a lot farther than 16min too!

I'm guessing he's still in high school based on the way he wrote that, so I'd say it's definitely possible. I went from an 18:30 guy in HS to a 16:low guy in college and I still have 2 more years.
