I'm using it right now. My chiropractor thinks I have fungus growing (invisibly) all over my body. He said many athletes (from being so sweaty) have lots of fungus growing--it's very common. I'm having hair loss that starts in little circles and grows into large bald patches. He's got me on the oil and on extract pills too made by Standard Process (out of Wisconsin).
It does taste awful. The aftertaste is even worse. Sometimes I even burp up that horrible stuff a half-hour later. You can't swallow the pills without tasting them either.
My dermotologist diagnosed me with alopecia ariata, and said I do not have fungus. I'm taking the oregano, but what the dermotologist said seems like the correct diagnosis. There is no cure for alopecia ariata, except that it goes away after 6 months to 2 years. So I'm living with it, enjoying not having a beard to shave anymore (my face is smooth as a baby's bottom), and I'm hoping I won't have to shave my head. I've got a couple bald patches the size of pingpong balls--one on the side and one on the back of my head (not where guys usually go bald). Luckily, I'm old and looking silly doesn't get to me too much.
I've been on the oregano 3 weeks. No change so far.
