Right now I use GPARTED on Linux from http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page to clone hard drives. Is there a better way to copy partitions and entire drives that you use ? Thanks.

On Mac there are a couple free programs: Carbon Copy Cloner and SuperDuper.
Acronis and Ghost work well for Windows partitions.
Symantec Ghost circa 2002 will not allow you to restore to another drive, they succumbed to pressure from the pukes in Redmond WA. The old Alladin ghost would allow this. I haven't tried the new Ghost 14.0 yet. Gparted allows disk and partition cloning of winbarf and ntfs partitions, and is why I use.

Really? If that's the case they must have reached some type of an epiphany less than a year later, because we still use the 2003 version to clone OS drives during network installations!
Opps, the current Symantec Ghost will not allow me to restore to another hard drive. I updated it with the 'Live Update'. I haven't tried the original as distributed on the Norton Systemworks 2002 cdrom media since I started using GPARTED to clone drives and partitions. Have you tried Ghost 14.0 ? I'm thinking of buying it.
